Alien Cultures

Psychedelic ‘petri dishes’, assemblages from a mixture of found objects, recycled plastic, and art/craft materials that I inherited from an old housemate. These material collages acted as a form of sketching in 3D. As micro-landscapes began to form, they reminded me of contaminated ex-industrial sites, and made me think of the amount of industrial material abandoned in my local area. At this point I pivoted back towards jewellery making, and as such the petri dishes have not ‘grown’ much from my initial sketches. I received positive feedback, and I see potential in the work.

This body of work bubbles away alongside my other projects. More to come.
